Stephanie Maloof Tsalagas, a second generation self taught artist, who has followed her mother's steps began drawing at the age of 4. She was born in the South End of Boston, Massachusetts and has been a lifelong resident of the city. Her artistic talent was apparent and recognized early. Stephanie became a visionary artist through many decades of commitment, patience and dedication for her work. She started traveling around the world early in her life in order to educate herself with various cultures while she was studying techniques and being tutored from many Art Masters.
"I like to demonstrate my emotions, the state of mind I am in and my inspiration while I am working. The way I feel is written all over my work. I paint tight, I paint loose. I like to present impressions, realism and what I call my true feeling for the painting." Stephanie Maloof Tsalagas said and she continued: "I prefer to be at the actual place, or have the actual face in front of me when I paint. My favorite is portrait painting. Since I was a little girl, I was fascinated with all different expressions a face can make. I felt it was very challenging to capture expressions and put them on a canvas."
